Dillons Intermediate team has a superb win in their first league match against Blackrock las night. The game was held at the Tank field. Dillons played with a strong wind in the first half and Caoimhe Rodgers scored an early goal

for Dillons. Three points from Therese Drummond (Two Frees) and a point each from Jane and Claire Dooley had Dillons ahead at H.T by 1-5 to 1-2. The second half was a thriller. Blackrock had the advantage of the wind but Dillons worked extreely hard. Points from Therese, Caoimhe and Donna Carroll kept Dillons ahead. Two second half goals from Blackrock had the outcome in the balance. Jane Dooley scored two late points for Dillons which proved vital. Dillons defence was solid and held out Blackrock to win by one point on a scoreline of 1-11 to 3-4. This was a real test of Dillons in their first match in this League. Amanda Dorgan and Susan Kate Brosnan were outstanding in the middle of the field and Dillons will be happy particularly with taking some great points in difficult conditions.
