What a fantastic day at the U13 Garda Blitz in the Glen and what a performance by Dillons. We were in a tough group but we progressed for the first time to the semi finals. Our first match was against Bishopstown which we won 3-2 to 1-0. Our goals came from Chloe, Zoe and Courtney. Our points came from Olivia. Next up was Carrigaline. This match ended in a draw at a goal each, Olivia was on the mark once again. Our third and final group match was against Rockban which we won 3-0 to 0-1. Goals came from Olivia, Aine and Sophie. To reach the semi final was a fantastic performance. There were twelve quality teams involved and to reach the last four was a great effort. We were up against Sars in the semis and despite giving it our all, we were well beaten. No complaints, we were beaten by the better team. Lots of positives today which will stand to us in the future. Sars went on to win the Blitz and congratulations to them. A sincere thank you to John O Driscoll and the Mayfield Gardai for organising a great tournament once again. A big thank you also to Mary Newman and Glen Rovers for the wonderful reception we all received. Looking forward to 2017 when once again Dillons will host the tournament at the Tank.
