Defeat for Intermediates.

Our Intermediate team were beaten in their opening league match away to Enniskeane on Saturday April 5th. It was a game where we dominated possession but  failed to take advantage and put away the numerous chances we had. The game was played in very poor weather conditions with the pitch just about playable and the low scoring was no surprise. It was also a day when we didn't get anything from the referee. However, as usual we have no complaints with our attitude and our commitment. We started well with an early goal from Jane Dooley which was our only score of the first half. We conceeded three points before we gave Enniskeane a very soft goal. The second half was very competitive and there was only one point scored which came from Essie O Connell. Saoirse Rodgers did produce a fantastic save to prevent a certain goal. Final score 1-01 to 1-03. The positives included a great defensive performance particularly from our half back, Emer Keane, Amanda Dorgan and Emma Sharpe. Shauna Cronin was also superb in midfield. This match was certainly 'one that got away'.
