Defeat for U16's.

posted 8 May 2014, 00:16 by Tom Myers
Our U16 team were defeated by Millford/Ballyhea in their first league match of the season. The match was played at the Tank field on Wednesday May 7th. We played with the wind in the first half but failed to take full advantage. Several good chances came our way but we didn't capitalise. However, we were level at H.T at 1-2 each. Two points from Sinead Mills and a great goal from Lucy Burke. Unfortunately we lost Kate O Connell to a hand injury and she was a big loss. In the second half Millford were dominant. Our girls fought very well for every ball but to little effect against a very good team. Sinead added a point for us but Ballyhea scored 3-4 with some stylish play. Final score  1-3 to 4-6. Best team won but in truth we didn't play to our potential.
Update... Kate O Connell has a bad break to her wrist. She is a brave young lady and we wish her a quick recovery. Everyone in the club wishes Kate well.
