Our Intermediate team were beaten by Cahir in the semi final of the Munster Championship. Played on an immaculate pitch in Whites Cross and with great support we knew we were up against a very talented side. Our backs were to the wall in the first half playing against a strong wind and Cahir were rampant. A first minute goal set the trend and Cahir went 2-9 to no score up at H.T. We regrouped and made a few changes. Playing with the wind and pride we went at Cahir. Emma scored a goal, Caoimhe and Essie a point each and Sinead got her just rewards with four points, three from play. Late on Caoimhe saw red for an off the ball incident. The F.T score was 3-14 to 1-6. Overall our work rate was excellent and this was epitomised by none other than Emma who ran herself almost to exhaustion. We have no complaints, we were beaten by a better side and we wish Cahir well in the Munster Final. Both teams returned to the Tank for some light refreshments. Thanks again to our committee for all their hard work. |
