Article by Tom Myers In April, Dillons took part in the Go-Games Tournament which was held in Na Piarsaigh, tems from Dillons, Na Piarsaigh, Douglas and Bishopstown took part. Dillons travelled to [aly Ballincollig in the U18 League, Dillons won 3-4 to 2-6 in what was a tremendous game of camoige. Shauna Ring scored a point from an impossible angle in the last seconds to win the match. Dillons travelled to play Blackrock in the U16 League, again another exciting match resulting in a draw, Dillons 3-2 to 2-5. Goal scorers for Dillons were, Caoimhe Rodgers and Chloe O'Mahony. The U18 team played Cloughduv in the Tank Field, Cloughduv proved too storng ont he night and won 3-11 to 1-4. Saoirse Rodgers put on a tremendous display in goal. Dillons travelled to play Ballygarvan in the U14 League, Ballygarvan won 8-3 to 1-0, goal scorer for Dillons was Essie O'Connor. Dillons travelled to play Inniscarra in the Junior A League, Dillons won 2-11 to 1-4, Therese Drummond scored 1-6. In May our U14's played Dungourney at the Tank Field and won out on a score line of 5-3 to 2-1. May also saw Dillons take part in the Feile in Ballincollig, teams took part included, Killeagh, St. Finbarrs, Ballincollig and ourselves, a very enjoyable day was had by all. The U8 side played their first match against Ballinhassig, this young team showed great enthusiasm and enjoyed the occassion. The team included, Lily Cullinane, Ruby O'Connell, Sophie Porter, Lucja Lujcik, Sinead Roche, Amelia Doyle, Cameron Rutherford, Massie Morgan Sutton, Sarah Murray and Olivia Daly. The U12's played Na Piarsaigh in the Go-Games a tthet Tank Filed, Dillons won 6-1 to 4-2 in a very exciting match. Kate O'Connell scored a hat-trick of goals for DIllons. Our Juniors played Ballincollig in the Munster Summer League at the Tank Field, Dillons won 8-9 to 0-2. |
